February 14: Batesville Spring Warm up:: UA Community College at Batesville, Independence Hall, 2005 White Drive.   Registration:  8:00 - 9:15 am. Rds: 9:30 am; then ASAP. 

 

Open Section 4SS, G/60.  EF: $25 by Feb.6, $30 on site.  Specials: Half EF, $15, for scholastic players for half count and half prize.  Prizes based on 30: 1st $120, A,B,C,D,E and under - $100 each.  3+ for prize or $30 for that class.  Free pizza lunch.

 

Scholastic Section: 5 rounds swiss, Game in 30 minutes.  1st round starts at 9:30 am then ASAP.  Tournament should be over by 3:00 pm.  Entry Fee: $10 (USCF membership is NOT required; all K-12 students can play).  Prizes: Trophies for top six and medals for 7th - 12th place winners in four sections: K-3; 4-6; 7-9; 10-12 (48 total winners).  Bring sack lunch and chess sets. Clock is not required but preferred.  Question and directions: Jason Qian: 870-834-3681, qsqian@yahoo.com, NC, NS, W.

ENTRY FEE: $25 by Thursday March 19, $30 on site.  USCF membership required, available at site.

ONE  1/2 point BYE if requested at registration.  

REGISTER 8:00-9:15 am.  ROUNDS: 9:30am, (11:30 Lunch), 12:30pm, 2:30pm, 4:30pm.  

(IF under 19 years old AND under 1500 rating - THEN $10 DISCOUNT.  MUST BE USCF MEMBER.

Arkansas Scholastic Chess Championship:   5 rd Swiss Sys. pairings, G/45 (45 minutes on each clock).  Trophies to top 3 finishers, Trophies to Denker Representative. The first place finisher qualifies for the 
Denker Tournament of High School Champions.  Entry fee: $10.  USCF membership required, may be purchased at the tournament. Registration: 8:30 - 9:15 am. First round at 9:30, remaining rounds as soon as possible, one hour lunch break between rounds 2 and 3.

May 22:
 Second Annual Tommy’s Famous Chess Tournament

What is offered: Trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Overall, and the opportunity to play in a rated USCF event.  A gift certificate to Tommy’s Famous Pizza will also be awarded to the first place winner!
                
NEW: Trophy for 1st place Team.  A team can be a school, city, family, business and/or chess  club(etc).  Top three scores count for top team award.

When & Where:  Saturday, May 23rd, 2009 at the Mountain View High School.

Format: 6 rounds G-25 (25 minutes on each clock) using Swiss pairings.
Entry Fee:  Scholastic Players $2, Adults $5.  USCF membership required.
                    If under 24 years old and without USCF membership, entry fee* will be $7.
                    If 24 years old and over without USCF membership, entry fee* will be $12.
   *This will cover a 1-day tournament membership only. Full memberships may be
